When I decided to go back into the IT Industry after a few-year break, I found that job market had drastically changed. As technology changes, my prior development experience was starting to become outdated, and demand for IT skills was different than when I first started. I knew I needed to learn new skills in order to find an in-demand job in today’s market. I elected to pursue the Quality Assurance career path that started with a QA program at SAM Career Center, where I learned the latest tools and methodologies. Upon completion of the program, I knew that I would need help with marketing my new skills and prior experience.
I am glad that I started working with IT Careers. They are on top of today’s job market and know what skills are in demand and what hiring managers are looking for. They are very thorough in their approach and follow every step of the program with great care. I participated in a number of activities designed to prepare me for the workplace and interview process: Extended JIRA training, personalized technical exercises, and a real-life group project.
The resume and the LinkedIn profile they put together started working right away and I was getting lots of calls. I was also very impressed with how ITC mentors conducted individual and group training sessions on how to present myself to recruiters and hiring managers. ITC coaches simulated interview questions and situations for each face-to-face interview I had. Guys helped me to negotiate much higher rate than I expected and to avoid many pitfalls throughout the process.
I am very happy with the end-result and my second career in IT as a QA Analyst. Thank you, IT Careers!
